“VOTE for AMY. She’ll represent us well.
Jeff Zenger has damaged our community for 4 years, putting his own land developer interests first. He took 1.8M from Lewisville taxpayers! Our small town could’ve used those dollars to Do.MORE.Good. Send Zenger packing.”

REPUBLICANS for AMY
“As a lifelong Republican, I’m voting for & supporting Amy Taylor North. I hope others who live in and love Lewisville/Clemmons and western Forsyth will do the same. Zenger doesn’t care about us, and we need to evict him now.”
—Fred W. Franklin, Lewisville Town Council, 1995-2003, 2009-2013-2023
I’ve known Zenger since the late 1990s. He ran for the Lewisville Town Council in 2011, and I served with him during 6 of those years. He ran for the NC House 74 seat in 2020, and I voted for him. During Covid and remote meetings, he brought forth an asinine development proposal that would have dramatically impacted our Town Square area negatively forever.t was denied by the sitting Council, and Jeff brought suit against the Town, and 5 individual members of Council, for $8 million dollars and punitive individual damages for standing up for the principles of what the citizens of Lewisville want for their Town. The suit was finally settled & he walked away with over $1.9 million. Every penny of that money was taken from the taxpayers of Lewisville.“
“Amy Taylor North is the clear choice. Here are 6 of the many reasons to elect her to represent us in NC House District 74:
1. Unlike her opponent, Amy North has not extorted $2 million from constituents with the threat of lawsuits because a zoning decision didn’t go the desired way.
2. Unlike her opponent, Amy North did not employ unethical and underhanded Dirty Tricks and bogus charges in failed attempts to try and disqualify other candidates.
3. Unlike her opponent, Amy North is committed to spending public funds to pay for public education. Her opponent repeatedly votes to divert taxed, public funds to bankroll elite, private schools. In this session alone, he voted to divert $458 million of taxpayer money to fund exclusive, private schools. (Did Zenger’s kids graduate from private schools that receive state monies?)
4. Unlike her opponent, Amy North is committed to empowering local decision making. Her opponent routinely sponsors and votes for legislation designed to strip away local government’s ability to perform the essential functions of zoning, planning and holding local elections as required by North Carolina statute. (House Bills 537, HB 562, HB 10)
Unlike her opponent, Amy Taylor North is not a party automaton.
She demonstrates the willingness and ability to set aside party guidance; and evaluate every issue and legislative proposal on its own merits and its likely impact on the residents and businesses she represents.
6. Unlike her opponent, Amy North is not politically beholden to deep pocket special interests. And, unlike her opponent, she will not craft and advance legislation designed to generate profit for herself or her campaign contributors.
The choice is clear. We must not return an incumbent who repeatedly demonstrates disdain and disregard for his constituents. We need a representative who has proven they will hear all of our priorities and concerns, who will carefully and thoughtfully weigh all positions, and is committed to acting in a way that does the greatest good— for ALL of us.”

1.8 M. That’s what our State Representative and developer Jeff Zenger took from taxpayers because the Town of Lewisville turned down his plan to build an apartment monstrosity in the center of our downtown. What makes this payoff even more disgusting is that developer Zenger had served on the town’s planning board and the town council and knew that this was not the type of development that the residents wanted in the heart of downtown. Yet he threatened to sue our town, our elected officials and our residents if we didn’t pay up. 1.8 million dollars could have done a lot of good for our little town, but that didn’t matter to developer Zenger who has ignored the best interests of the residents of Lewisville during both of his terms in the legislature undermining the town’s authority to manage growth in favor of the interests of big developers and home builders.
One only needs to look at his campaign contributors to see who developer Zenger reports to. It’s not the residents of the town he represents.
After 4 years of damage to our town, and taking 1.8 million dollars from our taxpayers, isn’t it time to send developer Zenger packing? Vote for Amy Taylor North who, unlike developer Zenger, will truly put the interests of Lewisville residents first. —Martin Slominski
Sons, Mothers, and a Northward Path for Public Education
I am the Field Director in Amy Taylor North’s campaign for NC State House 74th District. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in political science, I was itching to become more involved in my local community. Fortunately, an opportunity to make an impact appeared when Jackson told me that his mom, Amy North, was running for State House. I met Jackson during our freshman year at West Forsyth High School, and he is truly one of the most genuine people I know. There is a reason I have stayed in contact with him during and after college. He took a break from his professional life as a budding pilot to help his mom, epitomizing the quality of selflessness. He knows how much making a positive change in the community means to his mom, and there was no question that he would give his time and support her during this period. I notice how Amy’s face lights up whenever she is talking to Jackson, as well as her younger son, Austin; that is love. Another observation that I have made is that the statement “Amy is hardworking” is merely an understatement. Sure, driven people exist everywhere, but each and everyday, Amy gives everything she has, fighting for a chance to have a positive impact on District 74. I applaud her for her continuous, diligent efforts. I will also note the amount of courage it takes to run for office. Oftentimes, especially during a general election year - we become enthralled and caught up in the future, and forget that it takes strength and grit to run for a seat in government.
On that note, I would like to share how incredibly proud I am of my mom. She has been a teacher for over 20 years, and is unquestionably passionate about making a difference to her students. I can’t begin to fathom the amount of positive impact my mom has made on countless individuals over the years. And yet, the impact she has had on me is even stronger. She has taught me what it means to be a servant leader. She has shown me what it means to go above and beyond. It is rare to find a night where my mom isn’t prepping for school. Unfortunately, this state ranks 42nd in teacher pay. That is pitiful. Cutting pay from teachers drives away quality educational experiences from children. I know of teachers who reach into their own pocket to get classroom materials for their students because the funding allocated is never enough, and also of teachers who are forced to get a second job to make ends meet. We often see politicians stating that teachers are crucial to foster future generations, yet the legislation passed does not reflect this. It is quite simple. The low pay that teachers receive is hardly sustainable. Amazing teachers often have to make the difficult decision to seek other employment, because low pay negatively affects their livelihoods.
Amy will make educational a priority. Think about the access to learning that not only your kids should have, but all kids in the area. I understand that private school or homeschooling are a better fit for some kids, and I support parents who make that decision. However, there are thousands of children who do not have that opportunity. Why should a student not have access to quality education just because of where they live or how much their parents make? Why should kids go hungry at breakfast and lunch because of a lack of funding? Finally, with a mental health crisis ravaging through our youth, why are there a lack of resources to address this? It is the right of every American to support whatever candidate they want, vote for whoever they want, and speak freely about their beliefs - and that is one of the many reasons I love this country. I choose to support Amy Taylor North because she will fight for public education.
