Amy Taylor North Biography
Amy Taylor North was born in Texas and earned her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1994. Her career experience includes working as a communications specialist and congressional campaign director. Amy ran for election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 74 in 2024 and was defeated by her incumbent opponent by less than 1,900 votes. Amy is mom to two young men, a small business owner, a caregiver to her mother, and has been a community volunteer and homeowner in Lewisville/Clemmons for over 20 years. In 2008, she created a national healthcare magazine and remains passionate about public schools, women’s equity issues, the local art/music/performing arts, and animal rescue. Amy is a co-director/volunteer for Community for Public Schools and is an active member of the West Forsyth High School PTSA, the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, LEAD Girls NC, REACH Women’s Network, Women of Action, and the Lewisville Historic Society.
